But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the concern of sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
